Terms and Conditions

SAFETY
The items on this site are not suitable for children aged under 14 years. The items on this site are not toys.
Most white metal items available on this site contain lead, which is dangerous if chewed or swallowed. White metal items may also have sharp points or edges, which can injure if handled incorrectly. Appropriate protective equipment, such as impact-resistant polycarbonate glasses should be worn when cleaning up figures.
Water-based acrylic paints are non-toxic. In the event of contact with the eyes, wash copiously with cold water and seek medical advice.
VAT
Fighting 15s is registered for VAT. Our VAT number is GB 917 3277 15.
Prices of miniature figures and models in the shop include VAT at 17.5%. Books, including wargames rules, are zero-rated for VAT.
Delivery charges attract VAT based on the contents of the order: 17.5% for figures, paints and mixed orders; 0% for orders comprising only books. Because the shopping cart cannot differentiate between zero-rated items and VAT-able items, the weights assigned to rule books are less that the actual weight of the product so that books fall into a lower price band for delivery than is ordinarily appropriate.
CONTACT DETAILS
Fighting 15s is run by Ian Marsh at Green Butts, Colwell Road, Freshwater, Isle of Wight, PO40 9SL. Visitors by appointment only. Please note that because of a serious illness in his family, Ian may be unavailable at short notice for an unknown time.
Email: sales@fighting15sshop.co.uk. Please be patient if you do not get a prompt answer: paid-for orders receive priority over everything else.
Telephone: +44 (0) 1983 557852 (10am to 6.00pm Monday to Thursday only). Enquiries only.
GENERAL
Painted figures shown on the site are for display purposes only. All items are sold unpainted and unassembled.
The spin casting process used to make white metal figures results in mould lines and flash. Items may therefore require cleaning up to remove mould lines and flash. Multi-part kits may require modelling experience to assemble. The tools used to remove mould lines and flash may be dangerous if used incorrectly: seek advice from an experienced modeller and wear appropriate protection.
Composition of unit, bargain, brigade and regiment packs may vary from that stated depending on stock.
Mounted figures come with appropriate horses. Riders are not sold separately from horses.
Prices are subject to change at no notice as a result of fluctuations in the exchange rate.
Payments made through Worldpay or PayPal are taken at the time of ordering. The shopping cart provides Telephone Payment and Cheque Payment options for customers who want payment to be taken at the time of dispatch.
A condition of delivery is that it may take eight or more weeks for Fighting 15s to obtain and then dispatch an item that is out of stock, that goes out of stock, or that is available only to special order.
Fighting 15s no longer provides paper lists of the ranges that it stocks. The online shop is the only list of codes.
FIGURE VARIANTS
Pictures on the site may not show all possible variants for each code and are not an indication of the exact variant mix supplied.
All figures are picked at random. Under no circumstances whatsoever can Fighting 15s guarantee to supply a particular variant. Fighting 15s cannot accept orders that are conditional on a particular variant of figure being supplied.
SINGLE FIGURES
Figures ordered by post, phone, or email are charged at the single-figure rate (UK-sourced) or the special request rate (non-UK sourced) as appropriate. This is higher than the prices of figures bought in packs online. Online orders save us time in processing and packing, and therefore figures bought online have a lower cost: if you want to save money, please order online to get the pack rates per figure.
Our current guide prices for UK-sourced 15mm AB single figures ordered other than through the online shop are £0.65 foot (£1.30 for standard bearers), £1.30 mounted (£1.50 for generals), £2.60 1 cannon or 4 crew, including VAT but excluding delivery. For Australian-sourced figures the guide prices are 75p foot, £1.50 mounted, £3.00 per cannon or 4 crew including VAT but excluding delivery.
Our current guide prices for 15mm and 18mm Eureka single figures ordered other than through the online shop are £0.55 foot (£1.10 for standard bearers), £1.10 mounted, including VAT but excluding delivery. Other prices are typically about 10% higher.
Our current guide prices for 28mm Eureka single figures ordered other than through the online shop are £2.00 foot, £4.00 mounted, including VAT but excluding delivery. Other prices are typically about 10% higher.
Our current guide prices for 15mm Scale Creep Miniatures ordered other than through the online shop are £3.00 for a pack of 8 infantry/4 cavalry and £9.00 for a unit pack of 24 infantry/12 cavalry, including VAT but excluding delivery.
Our current guide prices for 40mm Flashing Blade figures ordered other than through the online shop are £3.00 foot, £8.00 mounted, including VAT but excluding delivery.
Prices for equipment and vehicles are usually about 10% higher than in the online shop.
SPECIAL ORDERS
Some ranges are available only to special order and can take eight weeks or more to arrive in the UK. Special orders are placed like any other order for figures that are in stock.
CAST TO ORDER
Some figures are now produced under licence using authorised moulds, and are cast to order. We hold lower stocks of such figures, because it is more economic to hold the stock as metal ingots, and cast them as required to fulfil orders, which may result in a delay in the processing and dispatch of your order.
OUT OF STOCK
Orders for figures that are temporarily out of stock are treated as special orders and it may take eight weeks or more for items to arrive in the UK.
CONFIRMATION OF ONLINE ORDERS
Customers will be sent written confirmation by email that their order has been received. Confirmation that an order has been received does not constitute acceptance of that order. Fighting 15s reserves the right not to supply items where errors arise in the price, code or description in the shop, or if mail order customers provide insufficient payment. Fighting 15s reserves the right to decline such orders, and to decline orders that are not economic to cast.
PayPal's "instructions to merchant" do not form part of Fighting 15s' orders processing system nor part of Fighting 15s' contract with customers. Please email us separately if you have any special requests regarding your order so that we can confirm whether the request is possible, and therefore whether we can accept your order.
ORDERS PLACED BY EMAIL, PHONE, FAX OR POST
Fighting 15s' priority is dealing with paid-for orders placed in the online shop. All other types of order are accepted at Fighting 15s' discretion and - this is important - are dealt with only when there are no online orders left to process.
Orders placed other than through the online shop are charged at single-figure rates (see Single Figures, above), and card payments other than through the online shop attract a packing materials charge of 50p plus a 4% handling fee to cover the costs of card processing.
Orders for collection at shows that are paid for by card attract a handling fee of 4% to cover the costs of card processing.
CREDIT CARD ORDERS
We cancel and refund any order if the issuing country of the credit card differs from the country in the cardholder's address. Such transactions most commonly prove to be fraudulent.
Orders for collection at shows that are paid for by card attract a handling fee of 4% to cover the costs of card processing.
Orders paid for by credit card must have a valid, non-mobile telephone number that allows the cardholder to be contacted at the cardholder's address.
SHIPPING TIMES
Most orders for which all items are in stock are dispatched within seven days of ordering, subject to delays resulting from holidays, sickness, or preparations for wargames shows. Items that are cast to order are usually dispatched within seven to 28 days of ordering. Special orders and orders for items that are out of stock may take eight weeks or more before dispatch because they have to be obtained from overseas suppliers.
A condition of delivery is that if an item is out of stock, is cast to order, or is available to special order that it may take Fighting 15s eight or more weeks to obtain and then dispatch that item. This clause provides exemption from the usual 30-day limit on delivery for distance selling.
POSTAGE, PACKING AND DELIVERY
The shopping cart calculates the appropriate postage according to the total weight of an order.
Postage charges in the UK are: £0.66 (up to 100g), £0.96 (up to 250g), £2.24 (up to 500g), £3.49 (up to 750g), £6.70 (up to 1kg), £8.65 (up to 1.25kg). Postage is charged based on large letter rate up to 250g, and packet rate thereafter. UK orders over 750g are sent by special delivery.
VAT is added to these prices at a rate of 17.5% (although postage is exempt from VAT, companies must levy VAT on delivery charges according to the VAT rate of the contents). A charge of 50p is levied to cover the cost of packing materials. A charge of £1 is levied to cover payment processing costs. Fighting 15s regrets that as from 26 March 2010 it is no longer able fully to absorb the payment handling costs charged by our card processing services. The delivery charge therefore comprises postage, packing, handling and VAT.
Postage prices within the UK, to Europe and Worldwide are based on Royal Mail rates for the current year, and may be adjusted in advance of the official price rise to compensate for the lead time in dealing with orders. Europe includes any continental European country as defined by the Royal Mail, and therefore excludes the UK but includes many non-EU countries.
Customers that choose inappropriate delivery options for their location will have items removed from their order up to the cost of the required postage.
Orders that are combined into one (for example, if a customer places a second order shortly after an initial order) do not usually warrant a refund on delivery charges as the excess is usually accounted for by multiple payment handling fees.
EU and worldwide registered orders are sent by International Signed For mail.
Delivery charges for orders placed other than through the online shop are calculated on the basis of postage at cost according to weight, plus 50p to cover packing materials, plus a handling fee of 4% of the total to cover card processing fees.
DELIVERY ADDRESSES
The shop allows orders to be dispatched to other than the billing address.
Any customers from outside the European Union who want figures sent to a UK or EU painter must pay VAT because we are unable to prove that the order leaves the UK. If the correct tax region is not chosen in the shop by a customer, we will send a PayPal invoice for any tax that is due.
LOST PARCELS
You should allow up to 15 days (UK) and up to 25 days (Europe and Worldwide) for your order to reach you after receiving dispatch advice from Fighting 15s. The Royal Mail process for lost or delayed parcels cannot be started until 15 days (UK) or 25 days (Europe and Worldwide) have elapsed.
In the rare event that a parcel goes astray in the post, we will replace it without quibble if the customer has chosen insured (UK) or registered (Europe/Worldwide) delivery. Fighting 15s appreciates the assistance of customers in pursuing claims against the postal service for lost parcels.
A customer who choses standard delivery will be refunded if an order is lost in the post, and the original order will be cancelled. The order will need to be made again, this time chosing a registered delivery option. Fighting 15s requires any customer whose order is lost in the post to use registered delivery for future orders, including replacements for a lost order. Instead of receiving a refund from Fighting 15s, customers can fill in a Royal Mail claims form for loss and eventually receive compensation from the postal service: this can help identify irregular activity in the mail delivery system. Fighting15s will provide the necessary forms and receipts.
Fighting 15s obtains proof of posting for all orders that it dispatches. Proofs of posting verify the time and date of dispatch, and the weight of a parcel. Parcel weights are used to verify the contents of a parcel to substantiate claims for missing items.
RETURNS & REFUNDS
Customers can change their mind and cancel or return an order within seven working days of receipt of that order without giving a reason. Customers must return goods supplied to them if they cancel an order.
Customers are bound to take good care of goods they receive and to return unwanted items in good condition. Customers that do not return unwanted items in good condition are liable for the cost of such items.
Customers must return goods at their own expense.
Fighting 15s will replace figures that are damaged in transit. If you break a figure while cleaning it up or during assembly, it is your fault.
If an item is returned to Fighting 15s because it has not been collected in time from the sorting office, Fighting 15s will cancel the order and make a full refund. The Royal Mail can take three to eight weeks to return a domestic package. You should receive an automated notification from the payment processor advising of a refund.
QUERIES & COMPLAINTS
If you have a query about your order, or in the unlikely event of a complaint, please contact us by phone (tel: +44 (0) 1983 557852 between 10am and 6pm Monday to Thursday). If we are not available, please leave your name and a contact phone number and we will return your call as soon as possible. You can also email us, but emails can go astray or can be identified as spam: missing or unreceived emails can unfortunately lead to misunderstandings. Email should therefore be used only for queries.
Please check your order on receipt and advise Fighting 15s of any discrepancies, other than items that are marked as to follow, within 21 working days. Note that we often combine codes and multiple requests for a code in one bag to reduce the quantity of plastic used to pack an order.
